Motion is a preattentive attribute used to communicate quantitative information. Speed (change of position over time) can express quantitative information with faster speeds showing higher values. Distance (difference between starting and ending positions) can also show a quantitative value. However, Some properties can be interpreted differently for different cultures; including motion.
